What Exactly is EGCM Season 2?
Customizing your golf cart is a fun and easy way to make it stand out from the rest. The Extreme Golf Cart Makeover Season 2 will focus on customizing an old used EZGO golf cart, replacing everything from the rooftop to wheels featuring Madjax body storm kits, seats, and much more. We'll follow a step-by-step process – research, purchase, custom planning, installation – all the way to the final result. Each episode focuses on one specific aspect or phase with a ‘How-to’ guide and some amazing tips and tricks for the extreme makeover. Keep reading to learn more about this season and how it will benefit you.
Which Golf Cart We Are Working On This Season?
It's none other than a 36V E-Z-GO TXT (2006) .

How We Found It: Research and Purchase
We started our search in a few places, namely dealerships and auction sites (which we’ve used in the past), but neither were not as successful this time around. So we tried private sellers on the Facebook marketplace, where we found some great options. We wound up buying a mechanic service E-Z-GO TXT that has been around since 2006 on a cool little golf course. It was just waiting for some modifications to become one of our favorite toys!

Be prepared to pay a bit more if you are in the market for a project cart. If you're looking to sell your cart, now is a good time. You can get a good idea of what it is going for in your area by researching other listings in your area for similar golf carts.
What's the First Step?
The first step in the process is checking the stats of your cart before any custom work begins so that you can make sure everything will be done properly. We took height and speed measurements to determine what kind of performance we can expect after the customization is done.

Top Speed (with a phone app) - 13 miles per hour

Document everything. It's a great way to know what your cart has and what the result will look like. It makes perfect sense!

Make sure to take some photos of the wiring before you take it apart, as these pictures will help you remember where everything goes and allow you to be able to put the wiring back together properly.
